UX Designer

I thrive on collaboration and believe in the power of interdisciplinary teamwork to drive innovation. Whether I'm sketching wireframes, conducting usability tests, or iterating based on feedback, my goal is always to create products that not only meet users' needs but exceed their expectations.

When I'm not immersed in pixels and prototypes, you can find me exploring the great outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, or seeking inspiration in art galleries and design forums.

Thank you for visiting my website. I'm excited to connect with fellow design enthusiasts, collaborators, and potential clients who share my passion for creating meaningful experiences in the digital world. Let's embark on a journey to shape the future of UX together.

Feel free to reach out—I'd love to hear about your project ideas, collaborate on exciting opportunities, or simply chat about all things design!

Problem Statement

Design and develop an application that will be used to support and provide guidance to first year students by collating key information and functions of some existing systems, along with new ones, in one place as well as providing students an opportunity to connect and interact with other students.

How Might We Questions

01

How might we make key information and functions from current UQ systems to create a seamless and intuitive user experience for first-year students?

02

How might we facilitate social connections and interactions among first-year students through the application to build a supportive community?

03

How might we reduce the confusion and frustration first-year students experience with multiple systems?

  • A public group online so anyone can join
  • Some repetitive posts (e.g. ‘pls add me to chat for **course code**’)
  • No filtering of members when they add (i.e. user’s current year / information,

Features

1. Consistent Layout and Recognisable Icons - The use of common icons such as lock to represent log in, person icon to represent account settings and gear icon to represent app settings is important to the user to ensure they understand the purpose of the button. In addition, consistency is an important UX design principle as it provides user-friendliness and coherent experience to the user.

2. Consistent headers and use of the colour purple - Each page will include a header to show the user what the page will be about. In terms of colour, a purple theme will be used consistently throughout the app to promote the UQ colours.

3. Utilising boxed-filled shapes to represent a button - this shows the user which elements are clickable / has actions.

4. Arrows - The use of arrows are consistently used throughout the app to represent elements that can be expanded into other options. In this instance, when the user clicks “English” it will expand to a drop down menu with all the other options such as “Chinese” or “Spanish”.

5. Utilising grey font to display subheadings- to guarantee that the user knows the hierarchy of information - the purple coloured fonts represent important information whereas the grey coloured fonts represent subheadings / further information from the heading. This also explores Visual Hierarchy in UX design principles as it displays the most important elements on the page using variation in colour.
